Those sound like some good groups to check out. Having people to share a
common goal with seems to definitely make things happen.

Lynda,

Have you joined Ravelry yet? I know at the beginning of the year they have
new groups that start and one or more are stash busting groups. They are
great motivators to have cheerleaders on your side along the way. As an
example of other groups: 52 socks is one pair of socks a week for a year, 52
projects is one project a week for a year, Shawl a month is one shawl a
month for a year, UFOs is a group for finishing your UFOs (I don't remember
how they break down but is a so many for the year type of thing).

Good luck, I had originally promised myself that I would not buy yarn unless
I had a specific project for it. So far, I had been doing well even though
it seemed like the yarn was growing simply because I had two afghan projects
and a sweater lined up. However, I now have some left overs and I picked up
some yarn that was on sale that "sort of" has a project assigned to it. But
the real deal breaker was when I was at Good-Will the other day and picked
up three skeins of matching yarn and two 1 pound skeins that I have
absolutely no projects for but $1 for the smaller skeins each and $2 for the
one pound skeins . . . well you can see my dilemma in not purchasing it. The
three smaller skeins are a really soft acrylic and the one pound skeins each
have their original tags. I am washing the yarn before using it simply for
the fact that it has been sitting at Good-Will just to be on the safe side.
