When you first sign up for the list, it is stated about subject lines and
staying on topic. As Audrey has said it is up to the indivisuals to do
this. I read every email that is on this list and now I have the previous
email that I am replying to included after my reply. I don't know how it
changed but possibly the newer updated versions that are now on my computer.

Greg,
This sounds like a very good idea and I hope the people on the board give
it some consideration, if they can. (just a suggestion)
One drawback that I see, from my viewpoint only, being a monitor of the
emails. I think everyone has seen me ask more than once to please watch the
subject line of your postings. Since this list was started I spoke to Joyce
about the potential of the catagorizing of subject line as a very viable
research tool, but my pleas, most times have fallen on deaf ears. There have
been endless strings of good information lost to subject lines like
"Joann's lastest sales (just a heading, don't get bent out of shape) that last
for days and days.
I think your idea is a great one, but it takes the do diligence of
everyone in order for it to work. Believe me, I hope it does.
Good Luck,
Audrey Wellner, Secretary

I have a new idea! Krafter’s Corner is a great group and I am not
suggesting we change ANYTHING! But, maybe we have become to focused on our
wonderful and valuable phone service for classes. There is a need and always will
be a need for this kind of enteraction. But, quite frankly, it does not meet
the needs of everyone. A person has to have long distance access in an
affordable way or skype. You have to show up at the designated time even if
that’s in the middle of the night where you are. You have to work at the pace
of all the other students. And, there are many more comments I have read
here!
Why are we not using this e-mail list for more than a way to socialize in
many cases? Why isn’t a classroom a part of it? What I’d like to propose is
that we all Me included start labeling the message very carefully and
start doing more how-to stuff right here! If I’m not interested in a topic, I
simply can skip those posts. An example of this is that it has been
suggested I start some crochet instruction. If I take the time to write a coherent
lesson plan and explanation which I would need for a phone class, I can
post that here. Then, if you want to do it, you can give it a try, e-mail a
question for all to see and learn from, I respond, and on and on till we all
learn. Somebody can read that anytime. If somebody comes along a year from
now and wants to read that material, they can search for a specific Subject
and read all about it. I learn to teach. I learn to write a Good lesson
plan. I give of myself and not just take from the group. I freely
give that instruction because I want to and not as a job. It’s my fun time
and not a professional time that I owe anybody. These are a few of the
benefits.
These are some of my thoughts. Are others interested in doing something
like this in addition to all that we already do? Is there a reason that it won
’t work?
Greg
