New Product Announcement
Talking Cooking Thermometer

For years, I have wanted a decent cooking thermometer. And trust me, I've
tried to find one! This is a truly invaluable tool for measuring the
internal temperature of roasting meats, for knowing when you are scalding
but not boiling milk, for making candy, and so many other simple to complex
tasks in the kitchen. With a good cooking thermometer in your hands, it
takes so much of the guesswork out of cooking.

One time, I was so desperate to have this invaluable tool that I got talked
into buying a unit with metal dots, marking degrees around the dial. Out of
the oven, this product looked pretty slick. The dots were nicely raised,
and the probe could be inserted into a turkey or whatever you were cooking,
and it was sharp and very functional. But, the metal dial also got very hot
in the oven and was impossible to read.

Another experiment wound me up in even more trouble. This thermometer was
supposed to talk and was advertised as "oven safe". They must have meant
"cold oven safe" though because the plastic probe melted and destroyed a pie
in the process. For several years, I gave up on finding a viable product.

Finally, there is a fantastic cooking thermometer on the market that is sure
to please any novice or experienced cook out there whether used in the oven
or on the stove top. Not only that, it's pretty inexpensive, too. You
don't need to leave it in the oven as it gives you an accurate temperature
reading in 6 seconds flat! Just insert the probe in whatever you want to
measure, push an easy-to-see and feel button, and wait a few seconds for the
reading.

Truly, this is the queen of talking cooking thermometers. It's good for
both home and industrial use so you know it is going to be sturdy and safe.
Use it to measure temperatures in solid food or liquids. The voice is clear
and quite audible, and the screen presents the reading in large numbers you
can easily see.

The size is small and convenient for measuring: 2 x 4.4 x 1.2 Inches not
including probe. Thermometer measures from - 50 to + 500 degrees
Fahrenheit. The unit runs on a 1.5 volt battery.
Perhaps best of all is the price: $39.95 plus shipping. You could easily
pay this much for an accurate digital thermometer that doesn't talk.
