I am a quilter and had gone back to it after I went blind. It took some
figuring out how to cut fabric for quilts and how to sew it and most of all
how to figure out patterns in piece work, but I have done it. I never had
the time to hand quilt before I went blind due to the lack of time. That
is why I wanted to get back sewing as I had all the time with not much to
do. I learned how to hand quilt strickly by touch and I am pleased with what
I have done. My stitches are not as perfect as my Mom's, but, I am happy
with it and her quilting friends have given me plenty of praise on my work.

I have just completed the first three books in a series about quilting.
The
books have really inspired me to try quilting. I used to do a lot of
sewing
before I lost all my vision and gave away all my sewing stuff including my
machine. I read recently that it is possible to sew without sight. I
would
like to try a simple sampler or a 4 patch and wondered if there are any
quilters on the list who could offer advice and suggestions as to how to
start.

thank you.
