 This is so true, Joyce! And if you wanted to get really colorful and a bit 
crazy, you could do the heel in one color and the toes in another one so 
your slippers will have three colors.

You can always make the toes and heels a different color then the  sock.
That would not be too hard since you would use the other color just  in the
short row shaping rows.  Just need to work your ends of the yarn in  well.
