Lionbrandyarn.com does give color descriptions for their yarns. You don't
have to purchase them there, once you hear of a color described there you
can go where ever you want and purchase it. I use that site to learn all
about the different yarns and then go hunting sales.
You said you are looking for cotton yarn.

Any suggestions for picking colors of yarn when the names are vague like
Summer Dream or Desert Night? I'm not having much success at finding cotton
yarn in the stores, and the price is half on-line, but I am not sure of a
lot of the colors. Maybe there's a site you know of that gives good verbal
descriptions of the colors? That's a lot to ask, I know, but I am an
optimist.
