[Nfb-krafters-korner] Macramé topics:

Hi again --
I've never made anything like what you describe, but I did once do a wall
hanging in macramé. I broke from custome and used a satiny yarn as my
medium, then tied a somewhat elaborate and decorative design. Wall hangings
are fun as you work flat and can hang the cord on a dowel and leave a fringe
at the bottom.
I can't remember what else I made, but I tried a lot of things, including a
macramé hair clip -- the kind you put a stick through to hold the hair.
This required leaving 2 holes for the stick. (I know, stick is the wrong
word, but I'm having a brain lapse at the moment.)
Happy krafting, and be sure not to get tied up in knots! *smile*

I too made hanging tables with ceramic rocking horse beads for a baby gift
and big wooden beads for my mom. Hers had a slate table. I preferred
polyester cord because it didn't eat my hands alive, but it stretched. The
natural jutes don't stretch as much. I had to trim the tassel on the bottom
of my mom's table because it stretched so much it touched the floor.
Eventually she got rid of it. I enjoyed the craft but the space to work on
it and a way to hang the project while I tied was always hard. I could get
back into it to make belts or bracelets, but no more tables.

Be kind, always. It is the most important rule of man; be kind in all
things. Anger steals your joy, fear steals your heart, worry steals your
life. But, in kindness there is never a fault...Steve Carter

Neva,

I made a macramé hanging table, the table part was Plexiglas. Strangely
enough I still have it. it has some beads on it.
I used it to place knickknacks on for a time.
now that I have come to love plants so much, a hanging plant holder is
something I would really like to make. I have some hanging baskets outside
on my front patio right now, but they are only made of plastic. they hold
feucheas and petunias, and the temps are going down to 43 tonight, so I may
not have those plants for much longer.
