Depending on the pattern or item, I have used multiple colors in knitting 
and crochetting.  I also have done multiple pieces and sewn them together 
along with picking up stitches to add sleeves, neck lines or collars and 
sweater facings for both buttons and button holes.  Your crafting techniques 
change and expand not only when you discuss them with others, but by 
exploring new patterns as well.
