Joyce,
Since a number of people are interested, I am replying to the list.
To use the NLS player:
There should have been a USB thumb drive sent with the unit. If not,
most drives should work; it needs to be empty. Some drives come with
system files on them that when you delete them, they re-appear; these
won't work. After downloading the book, select the .zip file you
downloaded and bring up the context menu and go to "extract all".
Follow the prompts and then copy the resulting folder to your USB thumb
drive and insert it into the NLS player. You can do this for more than
one book, and when you turn the player on, it should bring up the list
of books. There is no authorization or registration needed for the NLS
player.
For the Victor Reader, if, like me, you never get around to deleting
emails, look for emails from NLSAuthorization at humanware.com, and if you
find them, they will give you instructions on authorizing the Victor
Reader. I don't know how to easily check whether it is authorized other
than trying to play an NLS book. Here is the link to their FAQ which
has a section about NLS and just about everything else it seems:
http://support.humanware.com/en-usa/support/victor_reader_stream_new_generation/victor_reader_stream_new_generation_faq
I don't have a Victor Reader, so I can only tell you what I remember
from a couple of years ago. I hope this helps. Let me know if there
are any other questions.
Greg
