David F.
Ask your chapter to match you up, or find a friend to buddy with at convention. For many years, I assisted a lady in my chapter, who had no confidence. She had trouble with money, had trouble even finding her way from the room to the elevator. By working with her and making her, do a little at a time, now she is a fairly independent lady in our chapter.
Having someone mentor you or buddy up with, will help you to boost your confidence.
I assisted Henry at state convention. Someone showed him where the guide dog relief area was. I waited for him in the lobby and if he did not return in 10 minutes, I had someone look for him. By the end of the trip, he and Sophie could get around most of the hotel.
National will be a big adventure for the 3 of us!!! At convention, there is always someone to help you. Have comfidence in yourself. Remember, we all took this chalange that your taking.
Good luck and do not give up.

Dear List: I once attended a national convention. It was in 1989. I simply do not have the stamina now to face all the crowds and I can't handle being always disoriented. I'd have tried to attend a NAPUB meeting and the Krafters Korner. I think the advice given here to meet with people a day ahead would be very good. I understand the Florida hotel this go-round is pretty good. One year, it was very big and exhausting to navigate. I wish all convention goers a great experience.

It's fun for me to hear from some of my friends who do go the hot topics.
In 2011 it was that driving car. They had a mock-up you could drive tactually.

I just wish I could get help with some tech issues but it seems complicated.

Best to you all.
