If you have a small pair of scissors a tip that brings mack memories for
me.
My Gram always had a pair of small scissors with a piece of elastic thru
the handle then the elastic had a knot tied in it with a large safety pin
attached to the elastic. Well actually the elastic was not attached it was
hanging from the safety pin so it could slide up and wdown the elastic. Now
she always had this pinned to her apron or dress. Gram only wore pants when
she went out in the garden. So while sitting and doing her crocheting the
scissors were always right there and easy to find. As I grew up and she
gave me my own scissors and made up the elastic and safety pin I wore mine
pinned to my pants pocket or my shirt and I still do that.
You can get up and walk around and your scissors are always within reach.
You can get elastic by the yard in Jaann's or a fabric store or you can get
packages of elastic too. It doesn't really matter the width of the
elastic as long as it isn't too wide and fits thru your handle of your scissors.

Thanks Cindy. I have some already I was thinking of emptying them out and
using them. I do need something right at my side for when I put a hook and
small scissors down while rug hooking. It's amazing how much fumbling goes
on if there is not a clear space right there or an apron pocket to drop
tools into while working and having to put them down temporarily. At least
knitting needles with yarn attached to them don't tend to escape notice
easily.
Fro anyone who is interested the famous Webs is right here in my
town. Their web site is yarn.com. Each Sunday morning on WHMP FM, they air
a
show called Ready Set Knit and it is hosted by the couple who own Webs. I
love this show, and even did before I thought about learning to knit.
They
feature yarn sellers, pattern book writers, talk about new yarns just in,
close outs, all kinds of things. I bet you can listen to the current and
old
programs on their web site. They mentioned that anyone who didn't catch it
should go back and listen to the year's end review.
