[Nfb-krafters-korner] help with decreasing the crown of a hat?

I am doing this on the loom so I need some help
 when I use the 41 or 48 peg loom,
 and I use the gather bind off for my hat
 I noticed that's the top of the crown bunches up a lot.

 is there a way to decrease my crown so that it doesn't bunch up too much?
