Hello Amber,

Welcome and glad you are on the list. I am the Membership Chairperson at Krafters and would like to take a moment to help answer some of your questions, if I may. I am reding you found the list serve for yourself and your daughter. I would suggest to you to go to our webpage, www.krafterskorner.org and look around at what we offer. Also look at the past classes we have had, these were completed and can return if there is interest. There are many classes and hobbies you and your daughter might be interested in taking. In the pass we at Krafters have done classes in operating a sewing machine, making aprons and garments and a lot of quilting. There have been sewing classes from basis to more advanced. Right now there are crochet classes, loom and beading and more. Please feel free to sign up for a Free Try It Class by picking a class and filling out the form to take that class to see how it works. Last year we did a wonderful quilted table runner taught by telephone by our President, Joyce Kane, she is the quilter and sew person around here but there are others. Please feel free to read and post on list and ask any questions and there are many who will help you. After a while, you might consider joining the group and becoming a member. If you have any questions on this I have place my email below my name. I know you and your daughter will enjoy this list and all it offers, hope you give it all a try.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Hello

I’m new to this list. I’m a parent. I have a blind 15 year old daughter.
My daughter has always been crafty.
As she’s getting older I’m trying to get her into different hobbies. I was wondering if there are any blind sewers or quilters?
I would love to hear the best ways to get her involved in learning how to sew and eventually quilt.
Are there any tips on what is best equipment to use?
She has a little vision, but only a little in one eye. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Amber
