No, the Magic loop used in crochet has nothing to do with the Magic loop
method in Knitting.

In Crochet the Magic loop is in lieu of making a chain and joining it as a
circle to start a project in the round.

In knitting it is a way of moving a very long circular needle so you can
work a project in the round without using double pointed needles.

Magic loop in knitting uses only 1 circular needle.  Each circular needle
has 2 needle tips.

Knitting in the round with 2 circular needles is  different from Magic Loop
knitting.  When knitting in the round with 2 circular needles you will have
4 needle tips, one on each end of each circular needle, so 2 tips per
needle, 2 needles per project, so 4 needle tips.

I would also like to learn the Magic Loop with 2 circular needles. Tammy
thaught us the Magic Loop in Crochet, and I am guessing that it is the same
concept.

I'm always up for learning new techniques. I always want to know the
advantage of using a specific technique though before learning a technique.
For example, I like the edge made when casting on the way Dixie taught us in
the last cloth.
