[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Class

This is the problem with how things are turned around now. We use to have
phone classes only when we started out. It was like getting together and
everyone worked on the project while the teacher share her directions. You
had instant feed back and each one at the class would pitch in to help out
if someone was having trouble. Classes were a few classes long so if you
got stuck on anything the next class would cover it.

We did have folks that joined us from all over out of the country and
different time zones and that is how the email classes began.

Now everyone has a busy scheduled and don't want to take the time to sit
thru a class and purchase the supplies and give it a try together as a
class.

I personally will not do an email class as a lot of work is put into any
class and as Tracy said the teacher has no idea if anyone took the time to
try the project.

I wish more teachers would try teaching a class via phone. Give it a chance
to meet your students.

We use to have quite a few teachers, who would come up with different types
of crafting skills and enjoyed teaching a new skill.

Today, students don't show up for classes, don't let the teacher know if
they won't make it, but sure do want the directions sent to them.

If anyone is interested in learning more about teaching a phone class,
please contact me off list as I would be happy to work with you.

I know some of the teachers prefer email classes and that is OK, but it
would be nice if teachers would not feel like Tracy and question yourself if
you will do it again.

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Class

I gave one class, and, for me, it was a pretty disappointing experience. I
guess I had unrealistic expectations. I did a fair bit of work writing it
out, and I was excited to share my project, but I got absolutely no feedback
at all. I have no idea if anyone tried the project, or even read the
emails. It was like leaving a book on a bus bench. Did someone pick it up
and read it and learn something? Or did a squirrel use it to paper his
nest? Or did it just get rained on and turn into a mushy pile? Who knows?

It didn't leave me excited to do it again, although I might, because I'm not
too bright that way.

Tracy
