Hello All,

The National Federation of the Blind of New Mexico has established a number
of committees to plan for and support our upcoming 2019 state convention, to
be held April 4-7, 2019 in Albuquerque. Each of these committees has a
chairperson assigned, and they need members who are willing to serve and
work to carry out the work of the committee. If you are interested in
serving on any of the state convention committees described below, please
contact the committee chairperson directly to express your interest.

Registration Committee

The Registration Committee processes all registrations for the convention
and staffs the registration table at specific times during the convention.
The chair for this committee is Sarah Villavicencio, and she can be reached
by email at nfbnm.abqchapter.treasurer at gmail.com or by telephone at
505-550-4220.

Public Relations

The Public Relations Committee will write and distribute press releases
about our upcoming convention and develop other opportunities designed to
publicize the convention and the work of the National Federation of the
Blind of New Mexico. ShaRon Dandy is chairing this committee. ShaRon can
be reached by email at <mailto:sdandy51 at msn.com> sdandy51 at msn.com or by
telephone at 505-798-0192.

Door Prize Committee

have them brought to the convention, and handles the distribution of and
drawing for these prizes during convention general sessions. Tara Chavez
chairs the Door Prize Committee. Contact Tara by email at
nfb.abqchapter at gmail.com or by telephone at 505-328-3349.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee plans and coordinates the auction that is
conducted at various points throughout the convention. The auction raises
funds for parent scholarships to attend the NFB National Convention. The
committee collects items to be sold during the auction and coordinates the
auctioning of the items. The chair of this committee is Ernie Esquibel, and
he can be reached by email at earnestjake.ee at gmail.com or by telephone at
269-5984.

Resolutions Committee

Resolutions are policy statements of the National Federation of the Blind of
New Mexico. The Resolutions Committee reviews these policy statements and
decides whether or not they should be considered by the entire convention.
The Resolutions Committee meets on the first day of the state convention.
Kaity Ellis chairs the Resolutions Committee. She can be reached via email
at president.nmabs at gmail.com or by telephone at 575-694-4299.

Exhibit Hall Committee

The job of the Exhibit Hall Committee is to find exhibitors to come to the
convention who will be of interest to the membership, to tell them about the
opportunity to exhibit at the convention, and to get exhibitors organized in
the exhibit hall during the first day of the convention. Urja Lansing
chairs this committee. Urja can be reached by email at urjalansing at q.com or
by telephone at 505-345-3378.

Childcare Committee

The Childcare Committee arranges and provides childcare during the

Conclusion

Committees are only as strong as the members who work on them.

If you want to serve on any of these committees, please contact the
committee chairs directly. You will be notified if there is a place for you
on the committee in which you have expressed interest.
