Hello everyone,
We're exploring the idea of starting a Braille Book Club, and we'd love to see how much interest there is within our community!
The goal is to create a welcoming space where Braille readers can come together to discuss books, share perspectives, improve Braille literacy, and connect with others who enjoy reading. Whether you're a lifelong Braille reader or just beginning your Braille journey, everyone is welcome.
At this stage, we're simply looking to gauge interest. If you'd like to participate or would like to receive more information as plans develop, please email orlando at orlymeraz1 at gmail.com<mailto:orlymeraz1 at gmail.com> as we hear back from everyone, we'll begin gathering input on topics such as:
- How often the club should meet.
- Preferred meeting days and times.
- Types of books you'd enjoy reading.
- Whether meetings should be held in person, virtually, or a combination of both.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to build a fun, engaging community of Braille readers together!
Best wishes,
Tonia Trapp, secretary
National Federation of the Blind of New Mexico
