Below are the minutes from the annual meeting of the NFB Senior Division.
We urge all of you to join us in person next summer in Dallas!

July 5, 2011
At 1:00 pm registration began and Margo Downey, Jan Bailey, Joyce Scanlan,
and Pam Gilmore began collecting items for the auction and taking bids.
The meeting was called to order by the President Judy Sanders at 2:00 pm.
The Minutes were approved as printed in the Newsletter. Paul Dressel gave a
Treasurer's report which was approved.
Larry Sebranek reported on his experience losing vision in kmiddle age and
as a busy senior.
Jonathan Ice, a teacher with the Iowa Department for the Blind, spoke on his work training seniors to travel independently.
NFB President, Dr. Marc Maurer came in to discuss the sub-minimum wage
danger in Congress, and he auctioned off some wine and other items.
Bill Madden spoke about his training at Blind Industries and Services of
Maryland (BISM).
Rebecca Irvin spoke about her adjustment to blindness and her efforts in forming support groups in New Jersey. Joe Ruffalo emphasized the importance of members-at-large in staying in contact with seniors.
Margot Downey shared with us methods she has discovered for labeling or recognizing products or clothing that is in our possession.
The five officers have onemore year to serve in their two-year terms. Don
Gilmore and Margo Downey were re-elected to the Senior Division Board.
We voted to raise our PAC contribution from 50 dollars per month to 60
dollars. We also agreed to donate $100 to each of the following funds: Jernigan, Imagination, white cane tenBroek and SUN.
Ramona thanked all those who helped with the auction and donated items. We
raised more than 1000 dollars.
We adjourned at 4:40 pm.
