[NFB-Talk] Ban the use of fireworks at Disney in daily performances.

Though I do agree with most on this thread about enjoying the sounds of a great fireworks display, I imagine that some children on the autism spectrum, and others with sensory sensitivities, have difficulty with the loud noises and bright explosive images . I agree with someone here who suggested having certain days where the fireworks were not as loud, or another alternative was offered. I would not eliminate them altogether by any means.

That’s my two cents.

Good night.

People have already explained why they don't like fireworks. Have you not been reading this thread?

Look, you might not approve but someone asking for this accomodation but that's none of your business. How would you like it if other blind people trashed your request for an accomodation?

This is the worst thing about the NFB. We don't support each other. We're always pointing fingers and accusing each other of not being good enough blind people. Other advocacy groups don't have this problem.

Why would we even think of asking them to stop firework celebrations? Fireworks have brought joy to families for years and years. One thing we always need to keep in mind is that the world is not required to cater to us because we are blind. Are we entitled to the same accessibility and the same independence of life as our sighted counter parts? Yes, we are, but that does not mean that if something bothers us or our dog the world has to change. Sometimes if something bothers us, we just should not go. Many times, it is us that needs to take responsibility for our own actions. The world does not need to be responsible for our actions.

Computer graphical interface. Think! What they make pictures and stuff with for the sighted folks! I think that's what it is!

Living in Orlando and having gone to Disney and witnessed their celebrations and having a son who works in the entertainment part of Disney, I see no reason to sign this petition and didn't even look at it! I do not know if you are aware, but most of their fireworks are done with CGI.

Agree with other comments. Why? It is part of the Disney celebration each day.
