Greetings All,

If you know someone that does not receive emails or is not part of our list
serve, please share this information with them.

Lots of things to report, so I will focus on what is going on with the
planning for our 77th annual state convention.

.	When:	August 24 - 27, 2023
.	Where:	Hyatt Regency Downtown, 122 N. 2nd Street, Phoenix Arizona
.	Room Rate:	$109.00 (plus taxes) for a double occupancy room.
Different room types will have different (more expensive) room rates

How do you register?
.	Convention registration - go to the National Federation of the Blind
of Arizona (NFBAZ) website at http://www.az.nfb.org and clicking on the
convention link. There, you can register for the convention, select the
meals you would like to purchase and pay.
.	Hotel Registration -
https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/group-booking/PHXRP/G-0JQC. Please use this link
to register. It is specially set up for our convention. If you do not have
access to a computer or smart phone to register, please contact your chapter
or division president for assistance If you are not a member of a chapter or
division and need assistance,, please email me at
nfb.az.president at gmail.com.

Our hotel room block will close on August 3, so please do not hesitate to
register. The pre-registration for the convention closes on August 10. If
you have any issues registering, please contact me at
nfb.az.president at gmail.com.

The agenda is still being finalized. Final seminar requests are due in
writing by July 28. Please send your written request to
nfb.az.president at gmail.com. If your seminar requires a special room set up,
please include that along with the detailed description.

Door Prizes/Auction Items:
Mark Feliz is the chair of the door prize and auction committee and is
seeking items to be offered as door prizes and that can be auctioned off.
Ideal door prize items include, but are not limited to gift cards, cash,
gift baskets. Ideal door prize items include, but are not limited to gently
used tech, personal services (personalized dinner, baking specialty cakes or
pies).

Convention Assistance:
Assistance for the state convention comes in the way of a guest room. Each
room provided by the affiliate is double occupancy. Send request to me at
nfb.az.president at gmail.com no later than July 28. Please include whether you
have requested and are receiving any other form of financial assistance and
how much, if you have a roommate and if that person is also seeking
assistance (they must make a separate request), and if you have received
assistance in the past.
