[Nfbc-info] Brainstorming! Fundraising idea part II

Thanks so much Juliet. As soon as I get the go-ahead from River city I
will start the virtualIf we have an interest and run it until the day of
the event September 21 that gives checks time to get here and time to set up
the bus.
Mary mentioned a bus company in another post and I did write and ask them
for a quote to get a basic idea but River city might all ready have a
company in mind maybe even the same one.
Of course if that's the case I will deferre to their efforts but will
continue assisting the fundraising side.
Regarding Royal coach and tours this is what I have learned from their
website:
The bus would hold 55 people they have both nonaccessible and wheelchair
accessible buses.
They have smaller vehicles but by making a stop at least at Stocton I think
we could fill up at least one bus.

What I would like to learn is how many people coming from Sacramento and
points south to Newark would use the bus if it were available.
I'm not sure of the cities in rout which cities would benefit if we could
stop on the way in?

We might have to leave at 6:00 or 7:30 to get there in time for the bridge
walk.
Could we get enough people to fill two busses?
Also should we consider the posability of a special bus shuttle which we
could use for a one-day turn arround to get blind people to come for the
walk. That would probably need to be done differently but might get blind
people there for the day who couldn't or wouldn't attend the convention but
who want to support literacy. Maybe for the one-day turn arround shuttle
we could charge $10 a person or something.
Mike.
