Hello NFBC List!

Mike, I think you had some awesome ideas. I truly like the idea of
simply displaying the phrase: "Changing what It Means To Be Blind,"
and a photo. The photo, like Mike suggested can be photos of blind
athletes, teachers doctors, lawyers, children, etc.

I also like the "Blind Children Reaching For The Sky/stars," and
having a rocket soaring through the skies above a blind child raising
his/her hands high.

I would be very careful about using words like fear. Although we all
know that there is fear around being blind, losing one's sight, etc.,
we don't want to bring it to the minds of those donating money to us.
I think using words like "fear" might bring about the pity factor. Or,
how amazing is this blind person because he/she can get out of bed by
themselves in the morning?

Anyhow, I vote for simple tradition:

CHANGING WHAT IT MEANS TO BE BLIND
And, a photo.
Make it a collector's item.

One last idea though ... Can we put Braille on them? National Braille
Press makes magnets with large print and Braille and they sell like
hotcakes.

Just a few thoughts ...

LM
