The Pathfinder Chapter of Los Angeles scholarship committee wants to award $500 to a deserving blind/low vision college student in the Los Angeles County.

The application period began Wednesday, May 31, 2023 and will end Monday, July 31, 2023.
the NFBC Pathfinder Chapter of Los Angeles is proud to announce that it will be awarding one five-hundred-dollar scholarship
to a qualified blind or legally blind student residing in the Los Angeles County area and who meets the criteria as shown below

Students interested in being considered as the winner of this scholarship award must request the application no later than Monday, July 31, 2023. Please returned the completed attached application

Funding Guidelines and Criteria
Guidelines:
Only one $500 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified blind or legally blind student who meets the following criteria:
Criteria
· must be at least 17 years old at date of application submission,
· must have received a high school diploma or the equivalent from a U.S. school,
· must be a citizen or resident of the United States,
· must reside in the Los Angeles County area,
· must have successfully completed a minimum of one full
year of full-time postsecondary education on or before December 31, 2022,
· must be currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies at the sophomore year level or higher (or graduate level) at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States,
· Must be seeking to obtain an associate’s or bachelor’s degree or above,
· must show attendance at a college/university/vocational institute in the United States during the 2023-2024 academic year, and
· must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
A copy of your most recent transcript will be required.
Note: We will accept copies of your transcript; however, we will not be able to return documents we receive. All students must supply a copy of any post
secondary transcripts for current and past colleges. You or your school or an online transcript service may email a transcript directly to the contact person
shown above or you may upload a copy to your online application.
The scholarship committee of the NFBC Pathfinder Chapter of Los Angeles, after making the decision as to who will be the scholarship award recipient for 2023, will notify the individual of his/her selection by October 17, 2023.
