[nfbcs] Live Meeting, Adobe Connect, Webex

Greetings:

Most of these online meeting tools are not 100% accessible. In part this
is due to the kind of material that the meeting is meant to convey
(e.g., a picture of visual slide show), but in part the controls are not
always accessible using programs like JAWS or Window-Eyes. Both Adobe
Connect and WebX are problematic with Adobe Connect being somewhat more
usable than WebX.

I suppose one needs to decide what part of the "meeting" needs to be
accessible. If the meeting is mostly a lecture, then once you get the
program working, problem solved. If, on the other hand, a person doesn't
gain anything unless the visual presentations are understood (much like
real life), then other techniques (e.g., a reader) need to be used.

If most of what you want to do can be managed independently, you should
consider getting a reader to help you through the inaccessible parts.

Sorry not to be much clearer than this.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong
