The PDF file itself is not completely image file though it might have some figures images embedded inside PDF file as my sighted assistance tells me the PDF file is entirely written in \LaTeX and/or \TeX so for him it is completely accessible but not for me and my Intuitions tells me it might be problem with PDF reading software as it is not able to render accessibility standards for Blind/VisuallyImpaired and as it is correctly rendered by my screenreader as "unknown" "unknown" "unknown" dialogue message so I wish the software should be more robust

If it is a character-based mathematics file, it would have to be tagged by its author for mathematics.  Almost no one knows how to place mathematical tags in a pdf file.



Most OCR products can not read mathematics.

I have heard that there are other OCR math-capable programs.



Your screen reader can't translate diagrams.  That will require sighted-help with a graphical printer.

I've also encountered similar problem on latest Adobe Acrobat DC when I open PDF File using my screenreader it says <filename>.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (32-bit) unknown Content Preparation Progress dialog Please wait while the document is being prepared for reading.

And it is not reading outloud from PDF file what I only know is the PDF contains mathematical theorems proofs equations formulas diagrams charts tables graphs and mathematical content etc etc I tried Virtual cursor as well as scanning through OCR software also and same results not sure why Adobe Acrobat DC is not able to process the PDF documents though my sighted assistance told me that PDF is very pretty looking with fonts stylings and beautiful diagrams



Any help ill be highly appreciated

I have had a similar problem lately but have found if I close Acrobat DC and reopen it, it often returns to the normal behavior.  This is frustrating, but I pass that on in case it helps.  Sometimes, if a document appears to have loaded but is plank, I have also had success by turning the JAWS Virtual cursor off and then on using INSERT and Z.



Louis's approach of accessing the accessibility menu through the menu system might also work, but some times I find myself in some kind of window with multiple PDF files and such, which is why I closed and restarted.

As of a couple weeks ago, PDF files in Adobe DC (BC?), stopped displaying.

It stopped asking me what order I want to display the file in for

accessibility, and it doesn't show me the text, though, when I save

the file as text, it's fine.



How can I get it to go back to asking me how I want the doc displayed?

Where do I mark that I want accessibility?



I am running Windows7 on this machine, and I don't really want to

re-download Adobe if I can help it.
