Treinta Becas Están Disponibles a Estudiantes Universitarios, y de
Licenciatura Postgraduada

Baltimore, Maryland (3 de noviembre del 2009): La Federación Nacional

de Ciegos, la más Antigua y más grande organización de gente ciega

en los Estados Unidos, ha anunciado hoy que las solicitudes ahora están

siendo aceptadas para el programa de la beca del 2010, de la Federación
Nacional

de Ciegos. Treinta becas que suman $100.000 serán concedidas

a los estudiantes ciegos de los Estados Unidos y de Puerto Rico. Las

becas están disponibles a los estudiantes ciegos que serán alistados

en un programa universitario, o de Licenciatura Postgraduada, comenzando en
el otoño del 2010,

incluyendo a estudiantes entrantes de primer año. Las becas se extienden en
valor desde $3.000

a $12.000.

El Doctor Marc Maurer, Presidente de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos,

dijo: "El Programa de la Beca de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos es

la manera de la Federación de reconocer el logro académico excepcional

por estudiantes ciegos y de propagar nuestra filosofía positiva sobre la
ceguera

a estos estudiantes, y al público en general. Debido a los

esfuerzos colectivos de Norte Americanos ciegos, gente ciega está hoy

realizando, con mayor éxito académico, e incorporando campos de estudio
que una vez eran

considerados estar cerrados a los ciegos. Celebrar sus logros, es

siempre un punto culminante de nuestra convención nacional. Me uno

al Comité de la Beca en la invitación de cada estudiante ciego

elegible

para que presente una solicitud, y espero con gran placer conocer a los
individuos

dinámicos que compondrán la clase de la beca del 2010 de la Federación
Nacional de Ciegos."
