Hello everyone,
Please make sure to complete these phone calls as soon as possible! Our
message is getting out--I just called the two senators from my area and they
were all ready familiar with combining the bills. Please make everyone
extra familiar with this proposed legislation so it can get out of
committee!
Thanks,
Melissa

Subject: [Nfbmd] Urgent action needed in Annapolis!
Hello All,
If our legislation is to succeed it must get out of committee this week. We
need everyone to call Senator Brian Frosh, Chairman, and the appropriate
Senators from your area, on March 21 or 22 asking them to combine SB 596 and
SB 642 and to vote in favor of this legislation. This action is necessary
because there is a fiscal note cost associated with SB 596 the Internet Bill
which would be cancelled out if it was combined with SB 642 which will give
people the right to go to court. After you call Senator Brian Frosh,
chairman, extension 3623, refer to the list below for the Senators in your
area. You may call the office, or Email them.
The general number is either 410-841 plus the appropriate extension or
301-858 plus the appropriate extension.
Chairman, Senator Brian Frosh extension 3623
Baltimore City: Senator Lisa Gladden extension 3697.
Baltimore County: Senator James Brochin extension 3648
Senator Norman Stone extension 3587
Senator Bobby Zirkin extension 3131
Carroll County: Senator Joseph Getty extension 3683
Harford County: Senator Nancy Jacobs extension 3158
Montgomery County: Senator Jennie Forehand extension 3134
Senator Jamie Raskin extension
3634
PG County: Senator Victor Rameriez extension 3745
Western Maryland: Senator Christopher Shank extension 3903
There will be an announcement later in the week telling you which House of
Delegates members to contact.
Thanks for your help. Let's make it possible for the blind of Maryland to
participate in the benefits of the internet and to take action when we face
discrimination by places of public accommodation.
