we were small and mighty in Cumberland. There were about 8 of us including
our esteemed state President her sister Mary Ellen Thompson and a couple of
members from our chapter. We wre able to persuade a woman who was going to
donate about 4 or 5 garbage bags full of women's clothing destined for
goodwill to give the clothing to the Union Rescue Mission which was
devastated by severe storms that occurred on June 29th. My wife Tina drove
them over because we had a big car with an empty trunk. The woman was so
impressed with our industriousness that she gave each of us $5 to buy lunch
which we weren't expecting. Tina and I were able to patronize the
Cumberland lions club chicken barbecue right accross the street.
