[NFBMD] Opinions on Using Lift and Uber

Michelle,

I was originally partial to LYFT and couldn't understand why so many of our colleagues preferred UBER. Lately, I'm sad to say, LYFT has been a major disappointment. Too many times now I have heard back from drivers who claimed they were too far away, necessitating my having to cancel the ride, or the app got stuck on, say, 9 minutes ETA without budging. This was a hassle especially when my destination was time sensitive. In another unfortunate instance, when Lou Ann and I were to catch a train well before the crack of dawn, we were actually billed for a ride that never took place. I had no trouble in getting refunded but how crazy is that? UBER appears to have pulled out in front in terms of reliability, customer service, and probably even price, despite surge pricing.

  I have used uber.  I find it to be an excellent service.  I have used them several times and have been very pleased with their professionalism.  The IPhone app. is very functional with Voice Over.  I have not used Lift yet but I have the app. downloaded as well.

We are planning our Annual Resource Day for Blind and Low Vision Persons. Included in our list of exhibitors are Lift and Uber. I  am wondering if I  can get some feedback from anyone on   their experiences in using either of them. Comparisons would work as well.
