Hello families!!!

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland would like you to save the
date for May 4, 2024 for our STEM 2 U Program. The NFB of Maryland will
offer an NFB STEM2U program on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the National
Federation of the Blind (200 E Wells Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230) from
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will become astronomers through the study of
astrophysics and engineering. Join us to build models of the James Webb
Space Telescope, learn about the Earth's atmosphere, discover why the Webb
was sent to space, and explore how it studies space. STEM can be accessible;
let us show you how!

The National Federation of the Blind works to improve opportunities for
blind students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM). NFB STEM2U, brings nonvisual accessible STEM lessons and
activities to blind youth. Students of varying ages will learn fundamental
nonvisual tools and techniques they can use to pursue further education and
careers in STEM.

Parents will have the opportunity to participate in apparent workshop while
their children are learning to be scientists. This work shop will be led by
our Maryland organization of Parents of Blind Children. The work shop will
cover a variety of topics that will help parents support their children
succeed in STEM related fields.
