Lawmaker applauds Michigan School for the Deaf legislation | MLive.com

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan — Rep. Lee Gonzales, D-Flint Twp., applauded his colleagues for passing legislation that gives the state approval to sell Flint's

Michigan School for the Deaf campus from the state to a private developer.

 

"This is exciting for MSD and our community and state," Gonzales said after the vote.

 

The measure passed the House 92-3 at 4:10 a.m. today as lawmakers worked into the early hours

wrapping up their lame duck session.

 

Plans for the site include MSD sharing the campus with Powers Catholic High School.
