Very well said, Fred!  It is imperative that the "fundamental philosophical
compass" be corrected.  Until that happens, blind persons in Michigan of 
every age from
infancy to seniors in their 90s will continue to receive inadequate services
or no services at all

We all have interests that we want to pursue.  However, we need to remember 
that there is power in knowledge, in numbers and in unity.  We must also 
remember the priorities of the organization, namely security, equality, 
opportunity and independence for all blind persons.  As things currently 
stand with the Commission for the Blind, we have little if any of those..
 We've made progress and only if we continue to remain strong  and to pursue 
our goals, then will we achieve more equality, independence, 
opportunity,security and first class citizenship for blind people in our 
organization and for many many more in our state who aren't members.
