Hello Martha,
Typically, the financial assistance given out from the Michigan affiliate is given out during the MICHIGAN CAUCUS. If you received a Jernigan convention scholarship to attend your first national convention, you will need to pick that up somewhere else.
it is possible they give out the Jernigan convention scholarships during Rookie Roundup. , but I cannot say for sure if this is indeed the case. If you will be receiving a Jernigan convention scholarship, you should have received a letter explaining what you need to do to receive the funds of this scholarship.
If this will be your first convention, I highly recommend reading through the agenda, and highlighting the things that interest you, or creating your own personalized agenda. it is nearly impossible to do absolutely everything at a national convention, and I find this strategy works well for me for making national convention more manageable for me.
Anyway, I hope this answers your question about attending your first national convention. However, if you have more quetsions, please feel free to post them on this email list. I know there are several seasoned convention veterans who could provide their
own personal tips on how to make the most out of national convention.
Warm regards,
Elizabeth
