Matt,
And more advantages for the Talking Books program - you not only get
the latest books, classics and a huge variety of genre fiction, nonfiction,
biography and more, more than you can get through a local library. But
you also can get quite a variety of magazines. The books are navigable to
different extents - and you can bookmark them. You always start where you
leave off, you have 15, 30, 45 or 60 minute sleep timer, the sound quality is
excellent and it's FREE!
Wolfner has noted that older patrons adapt to this player very quickly
and want nothing to do with the old cassette player. More, since there
are no moving parts in the digital player, they are much less prone to
breaking down - which is always a problem with CD and Tape players.
And she can have a reader advisor find the books she wants and will
get them in the mail right quick.
Dan
PS: Public disclaimer - I am on the Advisory board of the Wolfner
Library and feel the digital talking books program is the greatest thing - even
better than sliced bread.
