[NFBMO] [MissouriAffiliateLeaders] BRITE Act action needed

Dear Federation family, I wanted to provide an update on the status of the Brite Act HB 2150. The bill is still in the rules committee. The committee will not hold a hearing on the bill. To keep the standalone bill alive we need to ask that the bill be acted upon by the rules committee as Dupas I have learned that the Brite Act has been attached to a larger education bill sponsored by representative Basye. This was done on March 29 in the elementary and secondary education committee. HB 1753 is made up of several non-controversial education bills. It was referred to the rules committee. The rules committee handled the bill  on Thursday, March 7 and voted do pass. Again the rules committee does not conduct hearings and Beals referred to it. On another note HP 1564 was exact on on Tuesday, April 5 and voted do pass our next action far this bill and the Brite act is to  get the bills to the floor for third reading. I hope this clarifies our current status with these to Beals if you have questions please feel free to give me a call.

The BRITE Act has been referred to the Rules Legislative Oversight Committee but that committee has not yet scheduled a hearing. We need to contact the committee members listed below to urge them to hold a hearing on the bill as soon as possible. Remember it passed the Elementary and Secondary committee unanimously.
