front of the U.S. Supreme court. The National Federation of the Blind
supported her nomination.

Dear Colleague:

 

Today, October 17, 2023, the Senate voted to confirm Karla Gilbride to serve
as the General Counsel of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC).

 

Ms. Gilbride was nominated by President Biden on January 3, 2023. She
previously served as co-director of Public Justice's Access to Justice
Project before stepping down in April 2023.  Ms. Gilbride graduated with
honors from Georgetown Law in 2007 and clerked for Judge Ronald Gould on the
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She received her undergraduate
degree from Swarthmore College with highest honors in 2002 with a major in
linguistics and minor in psychology.
