Good Morning,

I want to first thank you all for your hard work yesterday on
this issue. We have learned that the Senate may be planning to take
action on this treaty shortly. Please alert your members to start
making calls in support of the Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities, (CRPD) immediately. As you may know, Senator Lee,
and former Senator Santorum held a press conference yesterday to rally
Senators against the treaty, so we must make our voices heard today.
Members can be connected to the switchboard by calling 202-224-3121,
or 866-727-4894. Together we will accomplish our goals. Jesse

The following is in response to those that wanted information about
the opposition:

You can obtain a copy of an article about the opposition at:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/santorums-new-cause-opposing-the-disabled/2012/11/26/9ab0605a-3829-11e2-b01f-5f55b193f58f_story.html?wprss=rss_todays-opeds
“The treaty does no such thing; if it had such sinister aims, it
surely wouldn’t have the support of disabilities and veterans groups,
the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce, Republican senators such as John McCain (Ariz.) and John
Barrasso (Wyo.), and conservative legal minds such as Boyden Gray and
Dick Thornburgh.
