Hi Jane-
Thanks for returning my call.
My name again is Mary Zaleski and I live in Flemington, NJ. As I mentioned
in my message, I would be happy to ship this product out to you or wherever
it could prove helpful.

Product Info:
Zoomtext Image Reader Ver. 1 now owned by a company called Freedom
Scientific, Freedom Scientific.com
I believe the product is still being sold separately, or at least was at
the time I purchased it. The technology has now been incorporated with
other products, at a higher price, of course.
This works like an early version of what is now available on the Apple
iphone, where you can snap a picture of a document and then it will be
converted to speech and read back to you.

Specifications:
Image Reader comes with a cd to load the technology for the camera. It
connects through a usb port. You can also use your own camera if you have
one one the computer in place of their camera technology. It works with
Zoomtext, a screen reading product, and I think another screen reader
product as well, although I'm not sure.
Operating System: Windows version 7
Zoomtext version 10 (maybe ver. 9 too) for Windows 7.
Note: Zoomtext product changed with Windows ver 10, offering an Annual HOme
version with monthly updates for this operating system. ImageReader most
likely won't work with this version of Zoomtext, or Windows 10.

Product includes a non-reflective pad to align your standard piece of paper
with and the camera arm which stands over the paper to take the picture.
The 'L; shaped camera piece is about 12 inches by 12 inches and the arm
folds down for easy storage. Like a gooseneck lamp, you need to align the
camera over the piece of paper and through the keyboard issue the command to
take the picture, revolve it or even save it to a text file.
Funky fonts, shiny advertisement paper and graphics can not be read with
this product.
I have the whole thing stored in a plastic container, including the
instruction book that is open at the top, but about 12 " long x 4" wide and
8" tall.
That's about the best description I can give you, and I think you can find
more info about it online. This is really designed to help someone with an
older computer, running ver. 7 Windows, has Zoomtext or other text to speech
capabilities and wants to have some way to read some of the mail or other
paper docs they have.

Please let me know if I can share this with someone. I really hate to just
throw it away.

Regards,
Mary Zaleski
