Subject: Exciting Opportunity: PATH Riders' Council
Good Morning -
PATH is currently seeking to fill a position on the PATH Riders' Council
(PRC), a standing advisory board, that was instituted by PATH in 2014. They
are looking for someone from the disability community to fill this position
as there is currently no members with disabilities on the council. The
applicant must be a frequent PATH rider but, unfortunately, cannot be a Port
Authority employee.
Please assist by passing this information along to people outside the agency
who might be interested in applying for this position. We want to be sure
that people with disabilities are represented and advocated for at the PRC
meetings.
The mission of the PATH Riders' Council (Riders' Council) is to solicit
input concerning the PATH rail system from a diverse range of customers who
use the system, and to confer with PATH management on topics related to
system design, service and operations. In addition, the PRC helps PATH
garner input from its riders, identify riders' needs and concerns, as well
as assists PATH in implementing public outreach strategies and supporting
service improvements. This advisory board must be diverse and consist of
PATH patrons of all demographics, which includes patrons with disabilities.
If anyone is interested, please ask them to write to the following address:
PATHCommunity at panynj.gov<mailto:PATHCommunity at panynj.gov> and indicate their
interest. They will be sent an application.
They can also contact Linda Doss at 201-216-6488 if they have any questions.
Thank you,
Port Authority Abilities Network
