Greetings all,
The National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey is proud to invite all to
a Zoom Town Hall meeting to offer New Jersey residents accurate information
and increased awareness regarding county paratransit systems.
>From 8-9:30 pm on Tuesday June 30, we'll hear from three officials
representing New Jersey Transit, NJ Transit Citizen's Advisory (CAC) and New
Jersey Council on Special Transportation (NJ COST).
This is a topic vital to all of us who rely on par transit for medical
appointments, employment, shopping and other important life functions.
Please share with clients, members of support groups and colleagues; all
are invited!
Our Keynote speaker will be Michael Vieira, a member of the New Jersey
Council on Special Transportation (NJ COST) and the NJT Citizens Advisory
Council (CAC). Additional speakers will be Anna Magri, Director, Local
Programs/Minibus Support/Community Transportation and Basil Giletto, NJ
Transit Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) Chair Citizens Advisory Council for
Senior Citizens and Disabled.
Many individuals may not be aware paratransit services are available for
senior citizens, persons with disabilities, those with low income, and
people engaged in competitive and non-competitive employment sites. The
services also can be utilized for transportation to non-emergency medical
appointments, dialysis, physical and mental therapy, nutrition sites,
post-secondary education Veteran services, food shopping, Medicaid
transportation, social and recreational activities, etc.
