*The Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired invites you to call-in
to our August 2021 Commission Connection Conference Call *

*“From Phishing Scams to Identity Theft: How Awareness and Caution Can
Protect You From Cybercrime” *

*Wednesday, August 25, 2021 *

*10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon*

Identity thieves were busier than ever as the pandemic erupted nationwide
last year, with reports of identity theft in the U.S. skyrocketing to
nearly 1.4 million in 2020, more than double the number a year earlier.
Criminals hijacked other peoples’ identities to make purchases, apply for
benefits and to obtain driver's licenses, passports and other
government-issued documents.

Join us as our panelist share their knowledge on phishing, scams, identity
theft and other cybercrimes. Speakers (including an actual cybercrime
victim), will offer tips on what you can do to minimize your risk of
victimization.
