*VLANJ ARISE Speaker Series- "Achieving Resilience, Inspiration, &
Self-Empowerment"*

inspire you to achieve your best self. You will engage with speakers who
bring a wide perspective in sharing their stories, life experiences, and
expertise to achieve a more positive mindset. Topics are inspirational and
educational, balancing practical life tasks, to pursuing creative arts and
encourage you to move towards your personal and professional goals, and a
feeling of greater self-empowerment.*

*We are excited to welcome our next guest speaker, Daniel Kish, who became
the first completely blind Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist in
1996, and has operated as a Developmental Psychologist, child advocate, and
Social Change Agent.  Daniel has learned to harness the power of human
echolocation, has published several scholarly articles, and has been
featured on the TED Talks stage, sharing this powerful skill.*

*When the world seems fraught with chaos, when people seem unreachable and
unfathomable, when darkness falls, how do we SEE our way toward Security,
Efficacy, and Equality? I offer my framework for finding self-determined
freedom of life and livelihood through the strategic applications of
Adaptations, Capacity, Technology, and Supportive social engagement, with
emphasis on the role of Flash Sonar in supporting this framework. Come with
