In just 10 days we are taking to the waves once again. Are you registered?

We have begun our 10 day count down for the 9th annual Surfing for Vision
event in Long Branch NJ. If you have not registered for this year’s event
yet there is still time. All surfers, guests, and volunteers must
pre-register online, @ surfingforvision.org

This event is held in Long branch NJ and all the details and registration
are online at surfingforvision.org

For those who have done this you know how exhilarating this experience is
while being 100% safe. Each participant receives a lesson on the beach.
When in n the Ocean the participants are on long paddle boards with a
trained surfer who guides you the entire time. The event is done during low
tide perfect for learning and there are safety guards ready to immediately
grab you when you are in the water. Of course you are wearing a life
jacket!

Participating in this event brings awareness and changes the stereotypical
mind set of people who just don’t know what the blind are capable of.

 It also sends a sends n important message to those just diagnosed with a
eye disease without a cure. Many still have good vision and are depressed
and maybe even believing that life may not even be worth living. I
personally felt those feelings as a teenager and I can tell you that
participating in nan event like this you are shattering that lie!

This will be my last email this year promoting the event. We have a good
number of surfers, friends and family and volunteers attending. The event
is happening. The only question is are you going to be part of it this year?

 This is a great beach day of connection and community that is free. Lunch
is included for participants and volunteers and done. Jersey Mikes and
Frito Lay are our lunch sponsors once again this year. They are great!

journey. Our message reaches the person just diagnosed who can not imagine
living beyond their vision. Those that participate are mentors showing the
world that there are no limits and that they can live the life they want
regardless of ones vision.
