Subject: HPRS invites members of NFBNJ to its Irish Musical Concert
February 20, 2024
Good evening, Linda,
The Highland Park Recorder Society (HPRS) (www.hprecorder.org) would like
to extend to the members, family and friends of NFBNJ an invitation to our
concert, “Irish Musical Traditions”, which will be held on Saturday, March
2, 2024 at the Reformed Church of Highland Park, 19-21 South Second Avenue,
an ADA accessible location. We are working to have ushers to provide human
guide assistance as needed to attendees who are blind or visually impaired,
and to get assistive listening devices for people who are deaf or hard of
hearing.
The concert will feature two world premiers by Nathan Bishop, Music
Director, violinist, performer on Irish fiddle, conductor, composer, and
music graduate, *Magna cum Laude,* of Mason Gross School of the Arts. It
will also feature some performances by Irish soprano Fiona Tyndall &
Friends, Midnight on the Water, and the students from Nathan’s Irish Tune
Class. It will be a lovely pairing of Early classical – Purcell and
Vivaldi, Irish traditional and modern music.
The audience will be treated to songs rooted in the Irish experience, by
soprano Fiona Tyndall, whose music is broadcast on both sides of the
Atlantic. The performance will include the following instruments – Irish
Flute, Irish Tin Whistle, Uillean Irish Bagpipes, Bodhran – an Irish Frame
Drum, Acoustic Guitar, Violoncello and recorders.
The concert, Irish Musical Traditions, that was performed by the HPRS on
March 25, 2023, can be seen and heard on their website at
https://hprecorder.org/gallery/video/ . Donna’s review of the concert can
be found at https://hprecorder.org/events/2024-irish-musical-traditions/ .
Pictures and the bios of Nathan Bishop and of Fiona Tyndall can be found at
https://hprecorder.org/artists/ by clicking on their name. For reviews of
the vocalist we will hear, click on https://fionatyndall.com/reviews .
I will attach a concert poster and a brief summary that could be posted on
Facebook pages.
