[NFBNJ] Important Notice: Issue with Renewing Membership Forms

Dear NFB of NJ Members,

 

I hope you are all doing well. I am writing to inform you of a problem that
was recently identified with the newly launched membership renewal
forms-whether you are renewing with one of our chapters or as an affiliate
member.

 

Due to an unexpected system error, when members selected PayPal or a
credit/debit card as the payment method, the system processed test
transactions rather than live payment transactions. This meant that payments
were not actually completed, even though the form appeared to accept them.
We understand how this could have caused confusion and may have led some
members to believe their renewal was successfully submitted.

 

The issue began sometime after 11:00 a.m. yesterday, December 10, 2025, and
was not detected until around 11:00 a.m. today, December 11, 2025.
Corrective work began shortly after the problem was identified, and I am
pleased to report that all membership renewal forms were fully corrected as
of 1:00 p.m. today.

 

Action Required

 

Anyone who submitted a renewal form between 11:00 a.m. yesterday (12/10/25)
and 11:00 a.m. today (12/11/25) and selected PayPal or Credit/Debit Card
must resubmit the form and then complete your payment when redirected to
PayPal. This step is necessary to ensure that your renewal information and
payment are properly recorded.

 

Instructions for Credit/Debit Card Payments

 

Since not everyone has a PayPal account, please note that creating one is
not required. When you are redirected to PayPal:

1.	Select the link or button labeled "Pay using a credit or debit
card."
2.	You will be taken to a secure checkout page where you can enter your
card information without logging in to PayPal.

 

Important Note About Payment Verification

 

Your dues payment will not be considered complete until you verify that the
transaction has successfully processed. Please confirm that the payment
appears in your official financial records, such as your bank statement,
checking account history, PayPal account activity, or credit card statement.
If the payment does not appear in one of these records, the transaction did
not complete.

 

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and any disruption this issue
may have caused. Your patience while we resolved this matter is greatly
appreciated.
