[Nfbofsc] {Spam?} Billy Eubanks

I am still angry with Lexington medical Center because of the way that they
treated Loretta Eubanks. I have already called them and voiced my opinion
of their actions. I think that every blind person in Columbia/Lexington
should call the hospital and let thhem know how we feel about their policy
concerning blind persons.

If anyone wants to call the hospital the number is 803-791-2000. Wait for a
live person to come on the line then ask for the complaint line. In case
someone has not heard about the ridiculous policy, Loretta was told that she
could not stay in the room with billy unless she had a sighted person in the
room with her. Later, the hospital changed their story and said that
Loretta could stay in the room alone, however, she was not allowed to ask
for any assistance. Mike

Hi Dot:

Our best to Gail on her surgery. They got billy up yesterday in a chair for
a while. Loretta had a nightmare of a time with the hospital. On Friday
night, they weren't going to let her stay with billy unless she had a
sighted attendant there to show her to the bathroom. She had to call her
brother at 2-30 in the morning Saturday to come there so she could stay with
Billy. I wouldn't take my dog to Lexington Medical center. Mike had a
straight talk with the administrator, and ia'm sure Frank has done the same
by now. Then people ask, Why the National Federation of the Blind?

Wish we could sue them!

Hope your well.

Dale

David, thank you so much for that information. I will definitely keep the
entire family in my thoughts and prayers. Gail nelson also went to surgery
this morning and she is having knee replacement. How is Darlene? Tell her I
said hello.

Dear Fellow Federationists:

Billy Eubanks is back in Lexington Hospital in ICU suffering from further
kidney problems which might set him up for possible dialysis. Please keep
him and Loretta in your prayers as the doctors are doing everything they can
for him.
