Free White Cane Program

The National Federation of the Blind has distributed more than 64,000 free
white canes since 2008.

The white cane gives blind people the ability to achieve a full and
independent life, allowing us to travel freely and safely. We started our
free white cane program because we believe that no blind person should be
without a white cane, regardless of his or her ability to pay for it.

You can request a Free White Cane at the below link.

Subject: FW: Dominic Calabrese - For your review to go to board and staff
members

Dear Federation Leaders and Center Staff:

I am sure that many of you have read the Palmetto Blind article on Dominic
Calabrese presenting a Lighthouse Clock to the Governor. Beginning on
Tuesday, September 1 Mr. Calabrese will begin working with us as our Special
Projects Consultant. This in no way affects Dondra Bible working with us as
Special Projects Coordinator. Each has something to offer. Dominic has
much experience in Public Relations and Marketing. With Dominic's
permission, I am including his career summary below. We will talk more
about his ideas on promoting a special project with the Governor's Office
during Meet the Blind Month and our October 15 White Cane Proclamation by
the Governor. Let's all give him a warm welcome. In the meantime, if you
have any questions, please contact the Federation Center at 803-254-3777.

Ed Bible, Chairman

Federation Center of the Blind
