Invitation to NFB CSUN events

Fellow Federationists:

The National Federation of the Blind has a significant presence in the CSUN
conference each year. In additional to formal program activities, Federation
members from around the country participate in a wide variety of roles
throughout the conference. We thought it would be valuable to highlight some
of the formal Federation happenings in the CSUN conference and create an
informal gathering for Federation members. Please review the
Federation-related activities at CSUN 2017 and join other members whenever
you can. I am also asking Federationists to provide feedback after CSUN
about the latest and greatest that the NFB team should be working on.
Finally, if you are giving a presentation at CSUN share that with our access
technology team by sending an email to Clara Van Gerven at
<mailto:cvangerven at nfb.org> cvangerven at nfb.org.

KNFB Reader Windows 10 Unveiling

03/01/17, 12:15 p.m.

Location: Seaport H

CSUN participants are cordially invited to the historic unveiling of KNFB
Reader for Windows 10. Like its smartphone counterparts, KNFB Reader for
Windows 10 allows the blind and others with print disabilities to access the
content of printed documents, including bills, brochures, books, magazines,
handouts, and more. Users can simply photograph the document and KNFB Reader
will almost instantaneously convert the image to text that can be read aloud
in synthesized speech or output to a connected refreshable Braille display
using a compatible screen reader. KNFB Reader for Windows 10 incorporates
KNFB Reader's signature audio and vibration guidance to help the user align
the camera and take the perfect image of a document so that processing is
fast and accurate. It's also the perfect desktop PC or laptop application
for recognizing image-based PDF files. Join us to learn more about this new
iteration of the award-winning and world-famous KNFB Reader, now available
for all devices running Windows 10. Be an early adopter of the Windows app
and help make it even better.
