Program Coordinator, Assistive Technology
Temple University

Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, the Program
Coordinator for Assistive Technology will be responsible for
coordinating reasonable accommodations and support services for
students, as well as assessment, training, and short term loan of
assistive technology for students registered with Disability Resources
and Services. This position facilitates the procurement or production
of materials in accessible, alternate formats. The Program Coordinator
functions as a resource to University faculty and staff on the
inclusion of students with a disability, with a service emphasis on
the utilization of assistive technology. Performs other duties as
assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience working with
post-secondary disability services. Expertise in evaluating
documentation of disability; determining eligibility for services and
accommodations; and generating a plan for the provisions of services
and accommodations. Demonstrated experience partnering with community
agencies to enable greater access to and participation in higher
education by persons with a disability. An equivalent combination of
education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Mastery of relevant legislation i.e. Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA), Section 504, and related standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a field related to education, psychology, social
services, or technology.
Assistive Technology certification, or willingness to obtain
certification within the first two years of employment.
