Subject: [NFBP-Talk] Black History Month Fact - Patricia Bath

Hey Federation Family,

Just thought this was interesting and relative.

Patricia Bath was a black female doctor who received a patent for the
laserphaco to remove cataracts.

Her research showed rates of glaucoma in black patients was twice and high
and due largely to lack of access to quality eye care.

Am I the only one that never heard of her?

Happy reading!

Lisa
